2023 King & Queen of 30th Mardi Gras Ball named!

Each year, Community Conscience honors two individuals for their exemplary and selfless community service. This year’s honorees have contributed their time, energy and resources to bettering our community for many years. As such, they have earned the honor of being crowned King and Queen and reigning over the 2023 Mardi Gras Ball.  Our largest fundraising event of the year will be held the evening of Saturday, March 4, at the Hyatt Regency Westlake Hotel in Westlake Village.

King Ed Holt has a long history of volunteerism in the Conejo Valley and has been an activist here for many years. He has served in various leadership roles for events and organizations in Thousand Oaks and throughout Ventura County. Among his many contributions are supporting numerous youth groups, including sports coach of the Conejo Youth Basketball Association; serving as a trustee in the National Military Order of the World Wars Conejo Valley Chapter; serving as chair of the California Lutheran University Educational Foundation; and serving as director and treasurer of Tres Condados Girl Scouts Council.

Queen Terry Moerler moved to the Conejo Valley in 1978 and has been active here ever since. She is a Westlake Village Sunrise Rotarian and believes in giving back to a community she loves deeply. Over the years, Terry has served as Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce Ambassador, Board member and Chairman of the Board. A former owner and Operating Principal of Keller Williams Realty Westlake Village, her awards include the Otto Stoll award for Community Service and 2014 BRAVA Award by the National Association of Women Business Owners, where she was honored as Woman Business Owner of the Year.

(For a more detailed list of their community service, see the Mardi Gras Ball page).

The 2023 Mardi Gras Ball begins with a champagne reception and entertainment by the Chris Banta Trio. A feast fit for a King, Queen and their guests will follow, with dancing to the music of the Fifth Avenue Entertainment. Both silent and live auctions will be featured throughout the evening, each event packed with a variety of desirable items. To join the fun on March 4, 2023 at the Hyatt Regency Westlake, contact Community Conscience at (805) 494-3543 or visit CommunityConscience.org.
