2014 Mardi Gras King and Queen named!

Community Conscience “Under One Roof” has announced its honorees for the 2014 version of the popular Mardi Gras Ball. Long-time, local Conejo volunteers Robert “Bob” Biery and Frances Prince will be crowned at the 22nd Annual Mardi Gras Ball at the Hyatt Westlake Plaza Hotel on Saturday, February 22, 2014 commencing at 6 p.m.

Barbara Ashcraft, Community Conscience chair of the King and Queen selection committee, made the announcement stating “We are so pleased these two hard-working volunteers have been selected. Both have done so much for the “Under One Roof” organization as well as helping out at the annual ball.”

He served in the U.S. Army and graduated from Cal State University with a degree in Business Administration in 1959. Biery became Finance Director for the City of Thousand Oaks in 1981 and with his wife Patty moved to the Conejo Valley. The couple has four children and eight grandchildren. He retired from the city in 1999 but has continued his many volunteer efforts within the community ever since.  (click on title to read more . . )
